<Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ class="elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default">Background

Angela Henderson’s site-specific practice explores absence as a generative condition for marking memory, weaving together embodied approaches to mapping, installation, sculpture and radical pedagogy. Her work has been exhibited across Canada, Italy, Poland and Germany. She is currently a co-applicant on two SSHRC funded research projects; Memory Activism and Collaborative Processes of Counter-Memorialization (NSCAD/University of King’s College) and A Tactical Urbanism Approach to Assessing the Value of Accessible Public Spaces (Dalhousie/NSCAD).

<Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ class="elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default">CURRENT RESEARCH AND/OR CREATIVE PRACTICE

From 2018-2020, Henderson was the PI in a SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant entitled Collaborative Design for Unstructured Play: Developing Local Economies through Innovation in Material and Technology. This project brought together Undergraduate and Graduate Design students at NSCAD University; Undergraduate and Graduate students in Chemical Engineering at Dalhousie University along with Early Childhood Educators, Pre-Primary and Grade Two students from Halifax Grammar School and Lake City Woodworkers, a Halifax-based social enterprise that support individuals with mental health challenges.
